"The DANGERS of a PASSIVE MIND!"

It has often been said, "An idle MIND is the Devil's workshop." Whoever came up with this statement was no doubt under the influence of the enemy and most likely experiencing severe pressure to commit various acts of sin. After all, the "passive mind" is a safe haven and five-star destination for the manipulators of God's Word.

In my study and investigation of the anatomy of the mind, I have come to the following conclusion that the various "states of mind" we maintain are some of the causes for the attacks of the enemy (evil thoughts , evil spirits and evil deeds) on the mental, physical and spiritual health of Believers.

Below I have delineated several states of mind and the inherent dangers attributed to those states:

  1. An "Unrenewed Mind": is the "flesh" (the flesh is more mental than physical). Rather, it is more what you think, then who or what you are (flesh = sinful nature);
  2. An "Improper Mind": this includes ALL SIN which feeds the frenzy of the operation of evil spirits which leads to confusion, carnality and chaos;
  3. "Misunderstanding God's Truth": manipulation of the Word of God by wicked, lazy and immature teachers gives ground to nefarious spirits and their devices to create fear, doubt and hopelessness in the mind of the Believer;
  4. "Accepting Suggestions":  or evil ideas planted in the minds of Believers causes major disruptions in the life of immature Christians. Specifically, ideas concerning their circumstances (mostly financial, material and sexual) and future expectations of receiving blessings. This includes false prophecy, fortune telling, tarot readings, etc. The Believer must reject the thoughts and ideas of the enemy and recognize that these thoughts or suggestions are NOT from the Holy Spirit;
  5. A "Blank Mind": An "active" mind is the best defense to the works of the spirit of perdition. They attempt to empty the mind of the Believer of holy and fervent Kingdom thoughts, reasoning and intellect so that they can occupy and manipulate him. A blank mind is incapable of discerning the power, presence and protection of the Holy Spirit as well as perceiving or recognizing the works of the enemy; and,
  6. A "Passive Mind": is a mind that is awaiting some external force to activate it. Passivity reduces a man to a robotic state. It affords the enemy access to both the "will" and the "body" of the Believer. In this state of mind, there is absolutely no sensitivity to the power of the Spirit of God and therefore the Believer is totally vulnerable to the workings of satanic powers and influences.

Some final thoughts: Guard your heart and mind as you enter and exit intimacy with the Lord God in your Secret Place.
  • Understand that prayer, in and of itself, will NOT transform our thoughts into godly ones. We must become active participants in the development of our"spiritual thought lives;"
  • Waiting for for divine thoughts to infiltrate our minds during and after prayer only invites counterfeit spirits into your presence; the operative word here is "waiting." Again, Believers must be active participants in the maturation of their thought lives and the best way to strengthen and protect yourself is by immersing yourself in the Word of God; and,
  • God's leading for all Believers is predicated on the intuition of the Holy Spirit and NOT in the mind and soul of the Believer.

"COME SUP WITH ME: You Are What You EAT!"

Isaiah 31:1 warns us not to seek the world's system for protection but, rather, that all Believer's MUST seek the Lord God for deliverance and guidance because it was He that foreknew us and selected us to do a mighty work from the foundation of the world.

He has sanctified us and ordained us a leaders, teachers, ministers and most importantly, SERVANTS, in the Kingdom of God (KOG). God has place the Word of God in my mouth to engage, equip and empower the nations of the world for outreach and evangelism. He encourages us to "come and sup with Me" (Rev. 3:20).

Each Believer has an audience of "thirsty" people seeking to be quenched (baptized) by rivers of living water (Christ) that flow from the bowels of our spirits. Unfortunately, the majority of time spent in church has been used to "preach us out of sin." In this, we have sorely grieved the Holy Spirit inasmuch as our true gifts have been muted in lieu of advancing church membership, church programs, tithes and offerings, increased staff and larger facilities.

The Lord God has prepared a banquet before us: it is an all-you-can-eat buffet with only two things on the menu: His Blood and His Body (which represents "communion" with the Father, Son and Holy Ghost). How many of us would go to a banquet with only two things on the menu? Especially if one of them was Blood and the other Human Flesh!

Many Believers have not been taught and have failed to recognize that they are a nation (the "remnant" prepared for a great work from the foundation of the world) assigned to a nation (others we will share the gospel of the KOG with). There is a "ruler" inside of every Believer fighting to get out! (Psalms 2: 8-9)

The "Spirit of Joseph" declares "cut off my head and give me the Mind of Christ!" (Gen. 41:41). Joseph did not allow his mind to control him. Your "thinking" will disqualify you from effective service in the KOG if you are not led by the Holy Spirit. Your DNA is in the image of Christ Jesus in heaven AND earth. Eve ate (consumed) a "thought" that was presented to her by the serpent in the Garden. The moral to the story: "everyone does not deserve to EAT with you" (Gen. 3). This is called "discernment." It is okay to say "no" sometimes!

This admonishment is presented to all Believers: "Do not think independently of God." If I am going to manifest anything in the earth, Christ has to be operating a a high level inside of me. (Col. 1:26-27). Most Christians operate within the Babylonian system (Egypt) which is a system, paradigm and stronghold of darkness, deception and despair. Egypt represents a place of "no advancement" (limits, borders and stress). Egypt is fueled by the Adamic rule: "Live and THINK outside of the Word of God." Egypt is an enemy of God

If you "eat" thought that is outside of the will of God, you will fail. Remember two things, 1) you have been chosen for a Mighty work and 2) you ARE what you EAT!"

In Adam all men DIE; but in Christ all men LIVE. (1 Cor. 15:22)

"The Spirit of TRANSFORMATION!"

Whenever I think of the word transformation, the vision of a caterpillar morphing into a butterfly  comes to mind. It is a profound change that happens in obscurity (inside of the cocoon) or "chrysalis."

When my son was a little boy, we once saw a chrysalis hanging from a low branch and he was tempted to "help" the butterfly get out! I told him that God had already given him all the help he would need, but he just couldn't see it! I further told him that the butterfly had a little "tool" that he used to create a crack in the cocoon and then he would use his wings to push his way out. I taught him that the butterfly pushing on his own would strengthen his wings and enable him to be strong enough to fly away; but if he helped him get out, his wings would not develop enough for him to fly and he would probably die very quickly!

What do you think was going on inside the mind of the caterpillar as he was changing? Imagine what it must feel like to be among the slowest most unattractive insects on the planet then being transformed into one of the  most beautiful in all of God's creation. Do you think that being able to fly would change your mindset?

A new mindset is a requirement in order for transformation to occur! We reject what the righteous power of the Word of God has done because many Christians display a "form of Godliness" but reject the "dunamis" (explosive) power within. Transformation requires a daily presentation to the Lord God. The Believer must "press into" Gethsemane (the Garden of Transformation). We create "smoke screens" which delude us into thinking what we are fighting against is not really what we are fighting with (Ephes. 6: 10-12).

Theses are the three (3) conditions of change:

  1. Change your nature: who you are;
  2. Change your function: how you do what you do; and,
  3. Change your condition: the intent and purpose of your heart and mind.
God created us with  a free will that would allow us to pursue our nature, function and condition that would afford us the opportunity to transform into a greater form with greater value to God's people in the marketplace.

The more you stay inside of the "old man" (carnal man), the more corrupt you become. Our commitment to transformation is rooted and grounded in our willingness to undergo complete change which will manifest great character and conduct in the life of the Believer.

"Inspiration is temporary, but transformation is eternal!"

"The POTTER and the CLAY!"

 “...Behold, like the clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel." (Jer. 18:6b)

As I continue to study the Anatomy of the Hand of God, the Holy Spirit has given me the following revelation of the relationship between the Potter (the Lord God) and the clay (mankind):

  • The vessel (clay) was always under the authority of God;
  • There are three (3) "wills" involved in this relational equation: the will of God; the will of mankind and the will of Satan;
  • God made the clay;
  • The clay was "marred" (contaminated) by the will of man to obey the will of Satan;
  • God placed the clay back on the wheel (thereby utterly destroying the clay and all of its contaminated attributes);
  • God then remolded the clay in His own image (thus giving the clay "structural integrity");

  • God places the clay in the fire (the fire DOES NOT make the clay pot ready for presentation). The pot is ready BEFORE it goes into the fire. It is the Potter who ensures the structural integrity of the clay pot once it comes off of the wheel. If the pot was not "ready" BEFORE it went into the fire, the fire would destroy its flawed structure and cause a breakdown and ultimately render the pot useless.
  • Since God is omniscient, He has already completed the "design" (destiny) for the pot from the foundation of the world (Jer. 29:11).
  • The fire HARDENS the pot. If the pot were not ready, the pot would collapse under the pressure caused by the heat (pressures and cares of this world),
  • God knows exactly what we can endure before He places us into the fire.
By the way, the Potter also CONTROLS the FIRE! Selah...

"The PATIENCE to WAIT on the VISION!"

The Holy Spirit constantly reminds us that we are not able to endure the adversity, trials and tribulations of life through no great power of our own or devotion to our individual principles or not because of some sense of duty to God; but ONLY because we have been given a vision of (from) God!

Perhaps Lazarus had a vision of himself being raised from the dead...

The thing that trips us up is TIME. Our patience is adversely impacted by "how long" something takes to manifest. Many Believers miss the mark because of their inability to operate in the spirit realm with the vision. When we hear, "Wait on the Lord, be strong and of good courage, I say wait on the Lord." (Ps. 27:14) we resort to our physical calamity of sitting still or remaining in a state on inactivity.

On the contrary, to "wait" on the Lord correlates to "serving" the Lord! A waiter is a servant. Imagine that you are in a restaurant and the Lord came in to get something to eat. Would you just sit there and not take His order or would you blow Him away with legendary customer service?

A vision from God is extremely labor intensive. There is no getting around the adversity paradigm. You will SUFFER for His namesake! Fulfilling your vision will require a lot of hard work. You must be diligent and consistent in your efforts to serve God in the marketplace. Likewise, PATIENCE is simply FAITH. Patience is also PEACE in the midst of ADVERSITY. Patience is a GIFT for God.

To be sure, the inspiration (to endure) comes along with the vision. This inspiration contains God's DNA for true endurance and perseverance during trials. (Heb. 11:27) (Philip 3:12) (Ps. 116:12-13)  The visionary "sees the invisible with his "ears" in the FAITH REALM (Rom. 10:17) because "...faith comes by hearing." The vision that was given to the Believer, although invisible in the "natural realm" is fully visible in the "spirit realm." First the spirit and then the natural.

"Lazarus was DEAD, but he got up from the grave when the Lord called Him by name!" This is proof that the ability to "hear and wait" on the Lord is Spiritual and not Physical! Selah
