The "New Normal"

I have been hearing a lot about the "new normal" syndrome which is pervasive in our society. The fact is, there is nothing normal about it at all. Each generation seems to generate its own sense of normalcy contingent upon the reigning political, social and religious order of the day.

We graft ourselves into whatever works for the moment because of our inherent selfishness as human beings. We continually sacrifice our youth on the altar of perversion, deception and fear without giving them the guidance necessary for them to compete in this global economy.

Mothers are getting younger, marriage has been redefined by politics, 4 out of 5 Americans are obese, we are dying younger, poverty is increasing, our men are incarcerated at a rate 6 times what it was in the 1970's!  We are constantly at war, foreign and domestic, and government has not curtailed its excessive habit over "hedging its bets" on the backs of the have not's! 

But it's our own fault!  We ask for it; "we" have created the 600 pound gorilla in the room!  This narcissistic generation has painted all of us in a corner.  At the end of the day, we may never know what "normal" is ever again. Your thoughts?
